Densford Civil’s bridge division was kept busy in the red sands of Karratha working on a three-kilometre duplication of Dampier Highway. Two underpasses were constructed during the project, requiring over 14 tonnes of reinforcing, 300 m2 of formwork, and over 300 m3 of concrete. A 300 tonne crane was used to install the 22 precast concrete plank beams covering the underpasses.
